In two recent Dutch publications, UvA-researchers discussed the research they conducted in the context of the project 'Safeguarding the normative foundations of democracy'.

UvA-researchers associated with the platform have discussed the research they conducted in the context of the interdisciplinary project 'Safeguarding the normative foundations of democracy' in newspaper NRC and on the blog and podcast StukRoodVlees.

Both the articles on NRC and StukRoodVlees draw heavily on their research about voters’ commitment to liberal democracy and its features. It features research into the dissatisfaction that certain voters experience with regard to the functioning of democracy as a whole and their views on certain components of it. Their research suggests that the commitment to these components are heavily influenced by their voting choice, as voters of right-wing parties seem to be less committed to liberal-democratic ideals than their left-liberal counterparts.
